The ISO 128 is like a “generic” standard. The GS1-128 is specifically designed to accept GS1 data
structures (e.g., GTIN; batch/lot number; expiration date; etc). Encoding GS1 data structures in an ISO
128 is not compliant with the GS1 General Specification and will fail verification.
