A farmer sells his potato crop to a manufacturer/processor that manufactures frozen potato products and the processor takes ownership but does not harvest the potatoes immediately. The processor in effect stores the potatoes in the ground and removes them when ready to process. Must the processor register the farm as a storage warehouse facility?
Even though the potato crop has been sold to a potato processor, until the potatoes are removed
from the farm and stored at an off-farm facility, there is no requirement that the farmer or
processor register the farm as a food facility.
