Am I required to register if I use heat to pasteurize the honey I produce on my farm?

Under 21 CFR 1.227, heating honey for pasteurization is considered manufacturing/processing. Therefore, if you use heat to pasteurize the honey you produce on your farm, you must register unless:

1. all the honey that has undergone manufacturing/processing is consumed on your farm or another farm under the same management, or
2. your manufacturing/processing operation meets the definition of a retail food establishment.
