According to Section 5.2, procedures should include “establishing the maximum time that may elapse between the completion of processing and equipment cleaning, when appropriate”. Each company should evaluate the need for establishing maximum elapsed time based on the difficulty of cleaning the equipment after prolonged standing. The GMP issue is to assure that your cleaning procedure is capable of removing residues that remained in the equipment for an extended period of time after its use.
