The rule permits continued use of an FDA-issued NDC/NHRIC Labeler Code under an FDA–accredited
system for the issuance of UDIs provided that (1) such use is permitted by the issuing agency that
administers the system, and (2) the labeler submits a request for continued use of the Labeler Code.
