I often hear the terms Validation and Qualification when referring to computerized systems. What’s the difference between those two terms, if any?

From an IT perspective, the terms qualification or installation qualification, are actually very different concepts. Installation qualification refers to ensuring the software or the system being implemented is installed correctly. Qualification refers to systematic testing of the system.
