Any piece of equipment is subject to wear and tear and a company should have a preventive
maintenance program for all pieces of equipment. It doesn’t make a lot of sense to buy a very
expensive piece of equipment and not have some type of scheduled maintenance of that
equipment. Again, this is one area where good common sense practices dictate that this is a
good thing to do. It will minimize sporadic or catastrophic failures of equipment, and it will
maximize the use of that equipment and its shelf life.
